Storm Stalls Amtrak Through Thursday, MBTA Service On Time
BOSTON (CBS) – Heavy, wet snow on power lines and overhead wires has suspended Amtrak service between New York City and Boston.

Wednesday evening, Amtrak advised their customers to expect service to start-up again Thursday morning as normal.
Earlier in the day, spokesman Cliff Cole told WBZ-TV restoration of Acela and Northeast Regional service depended upon crews being able to clear the tracks and retore the switches and signals.

There were no major problems on commuter rail and subway service. Passenger volume remained light throughout the day.
Some delays were reported, mostly due to heavy snow and downed trees.
Green Line surface lines are 25-to-30 minutes late because of heavy snow and wind.
Service is stalled up to an hour on the Fitchburg line because of a switching problem.
There are some issues with trees down.
The Providence line has been slowed by a tree down in Mansfield.
The Orange Line reported normal service shortly after 6 p.m. after delays caused by a tree limb blocking the line had commuters being bused instead.
The D branch of the Green Line opened Wednesday afternoon after running bus service between Newton Highlands and Riverside for several hours because a tree was down on some wires.
