Stiemsma With Toucher & Rich: KG Is The Backbone Of Our Defense
The Boston Celtics are on the front half of an eight game road trip and Monday night the Green were able to hold on to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 94-85.
The C's now head to Oakland to take on the Golden State Warriors.
Celtics center Greg Stiemsma spoke with 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich about Blake Griffin, the Clippers and the road ahead.
Stiemsma and Blake Griffin seemed to get into it a little during the Monday night game. What went on between the two to cause it?
"I didn't know there was really a beef going into the game, but he kind of came at my head right away right from the start and got a little physical. I guess that's part of the game some nights. I'm just happy we got the win to really seal the deal on top of it."
Was there a sense that the Clippers were going to try to out muscle them in that game?
"I think they wanted to establish their presence inside, but we're not push-overs either. We may be a little shorthanded, but you know KG is still the backbone of our defense. He's not going to back down from anybody and when you got a leader like that it makes everybody else around him a little bit tougher too."
After the win over the Clippers Rondo made a comment about the Clipper flopping and how it surprised him. Are the Clippers a team known around the league for their flopping?
"I don't know if they're known around the league, it seemed like there were a few extra ones last night trying to entice calls or whatnot."
The guys also asked Stiemsma what he'll do with the rest of his day since the team doesn't play tonight and they are on the road.
