Stiemsma On Beating Philly: "Got To Stick To Our Style Of Play"
The Celtics have two more games left of an eight game road trip before they return to Boston. The Green are 3-3 so far on the trip with the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers left to play.
Celtics center Greg Stiemsma spoke with Ryan Johnston and Mike Flynn, who were in for Toucher & Rich, about this long trip out West, stay in game shape, the trade deadline and the NCAA tournament.
Stiemsma has been a good amount of minutes, but it wasn't always that way. How did he stay ready to play when he wasn't getting the minutes?
"I don't know if there was any one thing that I did special that helped me to stay ready, but just probably a combination of a lot of little things."
They discussed injuries to teammates and a finger injury that he sustained against Atlanta. Will this be an ongoing injury or will he be fine after a couple of games?
"It's nothing, it's just a little scab now actual finger is fine just a pretty nice little chunk out of it, but just a flesh wound."
The Celtics close out this road trip with a visit to Philadelphia. Last time these two teams met the 76ers crushed the Celtics 103-71. What do the Green need to do different to beat Philly this time?
"We just got to stick to our style of play. When we play our style, when we take care of the ball we're tough to beat."
Plus the guys discussed the NCAA tournament coming to Boston this week. Stiemsma played for the University of Wisconsin, who have made the Sweet 16, take on Syracuse at TD Garden on Thursday.
Stiemsma explained why he thinks Wisconsin will come out on top and how they have made it this far.
