Leveille has been the voice overnight on WBZ Radio for the last 13 years.
He discussed and debated with listeners about a variety of topics from politics to Fluffernutters.
"I do anything I want, and that's what's fun about it. You don't find too many jobs like that in this business," he said Friday.
His long goodbye to loyal listeners was an emotional one.
Callers remembered favorite moments over the years and praised Leveille for always making them laugh during the wee hours of the night.
As he left the studio for a final time, members of the WBZ Radio morning team played kazoos in his honor. Leveille would often entertain listeners with his signature instrument.
Now, he's retiring to Maine with his wife Diane and, of course, his lovable cat, Max.
"I'm going to write a little. Part-time writer, and part-time beach bum. I'll have business cards made up that say exactly that!"
Good luck Steve!
We will miss you.
