Steve Crosby: Casino Licenses Still About A Year Away
BOSTON (CBS) - Casinos in Massachusetts are years away, but the state Gaming Commission, which is in charge of granting casino licenses, is working away.
They met in Springfield Tuesday to discuss speeding up the license application process.
They also discussed questions about a possible conflict of interest involving a Chicago law firm that's acting as a consultant to the city of Springfield as it tries to land a casino.

Commission chairman Steve Crosby told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 you won't see a casino open its doors in the state any time soon, but "we might be able to start giving licences about a year from now, certainly within 14 or 15 months from now."
