Stephen Drew Recalled By Red Sox, Will Bat 8th vs. Indians
BOSTON (CBS) -- Stephen Drew is back with the Boston Red Sox.
Drew will make his 2014 debut with the team on Monday night, playing shortstop and batting eighth as Boston opens a three-game series against the Indians in Cleveland.

The 31-year-old Drew was signed by Boston for the rest of the season on May 21, and completed a seven-game minor-league assignment before joining the big league club. Drew went 5-for-21 (.238) with three doubles, two RBI, two walks, and a run scored in seven games between Single-A Greenville (3 games) and Triple-A Pawtucket (4 games).
With Drew back in the fold, rookie Xander Bogaerts shifts over to third base.

To make room for Drew on the 25-man roster, third baseman Garin Cecchini was optioned to Pawtucket following Sunday's game
The Red Sox also placed first baseman/outfielder Mike Carp on the 15-day disabled list with a fourth metatarsal fracture of his right foot on Monday, retroactive to Sunday. To fill Carp's spot on the 25-man roster, outfielder Daniel Nava was recalled from Pawtucket.
