Steeple Returned To Dorchester Church After Years Of Repairs
BOSTON (CBS) - After seven years of repairs, the steeple has returned to one of Boston's oldest churches.
A crane lifted the steeple onto the First Parish Church in Dorchester Tuesday.
In 2006, the steeple was removed so workers could repair the water and wind damage it had sustained over the years.
The First Parish congregation dates back to the Puritans who settled in Dorchester in 1630.
Their current church was built in 1897.
