Steady Climb...
Not much to add tonight, as Mother Nature continues to pound the strike zone with fastballs down the middle so the forecast remains unchanged. Expect lots of sunshine over the next several days with temps and humidity steadily climbing. Highs will reach the upper 80s inland tomorrow, 90 on Friday and lower 90s on Saturday. At the coastline seabreezes will keep temps subdued a bit, close to 80 tomorrow, upper 80s on Friday and lower 90s on Saturday. Dewpoints, which had been in the 40s the last couple of days have climbed to the 50s now and by the weekend will be well into the 60s...achieving uncomfortable levels once again.
The grass and gardens are parched and our rain chances will be practically nonexistent until Sunday. At which point the boundary in the Deep South will have worked up through the Mid-Atlantic ushering in very humid and unstable air...the boundary will provide some lift for thunderstorm development during the day. They may be slow movers and the soaking kind, so some much-needed drenching rain may be in the cards by the end of the weekend.
Models next week diverge with the GFS bringing a coldfront through on Monday breaking the heat early while the EURO extends the life of the ridge through the middle of the week. Right now I'd side with the EURO as a clean frontal sweep through the region this time of year is a difficult task to accomplish...so expect more hot weather next week too.
