State Troopers Help Deliver Baby Girl In Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - Two Massachusetts state troopers helped deliver a baby girl in Cambridge on Monday morning.
Mark Bonassera and his pregnant wife Nancy were on their way to Mount Auburn Hospital around 8 a.m. when they ran into a traffic jam. Mark then called police for help.
The Burlington couple then pulled over onto Huron Avenue at the corner of Concord Avenue to wait for authorities. Troopers Frank Parker and John Arone arrived a few minutes later.
WBZ-TV's Karen Anderson reports.
"You train for these things, and as we were taught and they preach up at the academy, you always expect the unexpected, you know, and this is one of those situations," said Trooper Arone.
With the new dad coaching his wife, the troopers helped deliver Gabriella, a baby girl, at 8:09 a.m.

"It was over in a minute, a minute and a half, two minutes at the most. Baby's head was out, and as soon as the baby's shoulders came out, I just kind of like guided the rest of the body out," said Trooper Parker.
