State Trooper Hurt In Accident On Route 128
BOSTON (CBS) - A state trooper was released from the hospital Friday morning after he was hurt in a crash during a detail escort late Thursday night.
It happened on Route 128 near the Canton-Westwood line.
The unidentified trooper was escorting a construction crane in the southbound lanes, just north of Route 95, when a car apparently tried to pass the cruiser and rear ended it.
The trooper was taken to Milton Hospital.
State police said his injuries were minor.
"The investigation is ongoing to determine what charges the operator of the vehicle that struck the cruiser will face," state police spokesman David Procopio said in a statement.
