State Trooper Helps New Dad Deliver Baby On Route 2
BOSTON (CBS) - A Massachusetts State Trooper had a night he'll never forget Wednesday.
Trooper John Ciszek received a call at the State Police Barracks in Concord just after 9 p.m. from a man whose wife was giving birth in their car.
The couple from Westford was heading to the hospital when it became clear the baby wasn't going to wait.
The expecting dad pulled over into the breakdown lane on Route 2 in Acton and called 911.
Trooper Ciszek answered, dispatched two cruisers and an ambulance to the scene and then talked the new dad through the process and helped him deliver a baby girl.
Troopers were on the scene within five minutes of the 911 call. Mother and baby were taken to Emerson Hospital where they are said to be in good condition.
Their names have not been released.
