State Police Seize 48 Kilos Of Cocaine In Andover
ANDOVER (CBS) – State Troopers made a huge drug bust in Andover on Friday.
Troopers from the Essex County D.A.'s Drug Task Force pulled over a Dodge Durango being driven by
Jose Martinez, 51, of Andover around 1 p.m. on Route 495 Northbound in Andover.
Inside the SUV, police say they found 48 kilos of cocaine.
The drug seizure comes after a three month investigation that was targeting Martinez. Martinez is charged with trafficking cocaine.
He will be arraigned in Lawrence District Court on Monday.
"This investigation and arrest has taken a large quantity of drugs off the street," District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said. "I commend the hard work and diligence of the detectives involved."
