State House Receptionist Knits Helmet Liners For Troops
BOSTON (CBS) – While doing a story at the State House Thursday, I ran into Ellen Donohoe, the receptionist for the Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse.
She was knitting a helmet liner for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
She knits on the commuter rail ride in from the Merrimack Valley and she knits on the job.
She's now working on her 14th helmet liner.
Donohoe and another woman do this for The Woolpack in Acton and the store arranges for the liners to be shipped to the troops.
