Starbucks CEO To Customers: Leave Your Guns At Home
BOSTON (CBS) --- It'll have a grande double latte without the gun.
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz put out a statement asking customers not to bring their weapons into his stores, even legally licensed gun owners.
"We are not pro or anti gun. We just believe that our customers and our people will be much more comfortable if guns are not part of the Starbucks experience," he explained.
"I'll feel much more comfortable for myself, or my family, or my friends, as I go in," says customer Bill Taylor.
Others shopping at the Brighton Starbucks agree.
"I feel very strongly about my ability to live as a free citizen of the United States, but the gun situation has gotten totally out of control," says Joan Carella.
But local firearms instructor Tom Cheffro calls it a violation of his rights and freedom.
"I'll feel much more safe walking into someplace as an armed citizen. As my right, I should be able to do that," he says. "I'll just go somewhere else...I'm a Dunkin' Donuts fan."
