St. John's Prep, 5 Other High Schools Win State Basketball Titles
WORCESTER (CBS) - It was a big day locally for high school basketball on Saturday, as six state championships were on the line at the DCU Center in Worcester.

Division 1 Boy's Basketball: St. John's Prep 72, St. John's of Shrewsbury 57
St. John's Prep had a seven-point lead at the half before blowing it open in the second. Prep guard Steve Haladyna led the way with a team-high 25 points, leading the Eagles to the 72-57 win.
Division 1 Girl's Basketball: Andover 61, Amherst 51
Andover was looking for their second straight state championship facing amherst. It was just a two-point game at the half before the Golden Warriors broke it open, led by Gatorade Player of the Year Nicole Boudreau. The junior guard, who's already committed to Boston College, finished with a game-high 18 points and a key assist late to Jackie Alois for two, helping Andover to the 61-51 win and their second straight Division 1 title.
Division 2 Boy's Basketball: New Mission 67, Northbridge 57
The New Mission Titans dominated from the jump, using a suffocating full-court defense to stifle Northbridge early en route to the 67-57 win and the Division 2 state championship. Senior Darius Davis paced the offense with 17 points. He was one of three Titans to finish in double figures.
Division 2 Girl's Basketball: Arlington Catholic 49, Millbury 28
Arlington Catholic spanked Millbury, 49-28, to capture their first ever state championship. A.C. got balanced scoring, with 16 from Emma Roberson, nine from guard Erin Nee and 11 from Nicole Catizone to spark the girls in the victory.
Division 3 Boy's Basketball: Whitinsville Catholic 42, Watertown 36
Iit was a low-scoring affair throughout, but Whitinsville was just too big and strong down low. Six-foot-nine center Hans Miersma led the way with 12 points and 13 rebounds, sparking Whitinsville Catholic to the 42-36 victory and the Division 3 state championship, their first since 2005.
Division 3 Girl's Basketball: St. Mary's 64, Lee 54
St Mary's was just too big and strong down low for Lee to handle. The tandem of Tori Faieta and Cassi Amenta combined for 28 points and 18 rebounds, sparking St Mary's to the 64-54 win and the Division 3 state championship.
