'Spin Cycle'

An upper level low will be putting us through its 'spin cycle' through Wednesday. These typically affect us in a relatively benign way.  In summary, they are the culprit for diurnal clouds and daytime spot showers.  So, that's the basic forecast for today and tomorrow along with highs anywhere from the upper 50s to lower 60s.  Southwest winds will 'flex their muscles' today as they reach 10-25 mph.  Winds will be less breezy on Wednesday.

An approaching 'Clipper-like' system will increase our cloud cover early on Thursday before producing showers later in the day.  Temperatures will be mild in the lower to middle 60s...expect 50s for the Cape/Islands.  The showers will continue during the first half of Thursday night.

Friday will be gorgeous will wall-to-wall sunshine along with highs near 60F.

This weekend is a little tricky depending on where a front sets up to our south. To the best of my knowledge, I'd plan for a mainly dry weekend with more clouds south of the Pike. That being said, I wouldn't completely rule out a brief shower south of the city on Sunday. Otherwise, highs temps will be rather uniform with highs around 60F on Saturday and 55-60F on Sunday.

This week's night sky includes the waxing crescent moon.
