Space Heaters Help Spark Fire At Beverly Home
BEVERLY (CBS) - Hydrants buried under the snow made it tough for firefighters to put out a fire in Beverly on Tuesday.
Flames quickly spread through a home on Bennett Street during the morning. Crews had to dig the hydrants out before they could knock the fire down.
The family was using several space heaters to keep warm, and overloaded circuits apparently sparked the fire.
WBZ-TV's Jonathan Elias reports.
"They're massive. You could feel the heat from the parking lot. they were just coming up, probably i'd say 20 feet up in the air," said Jenn Marcos, a neighbor.
Everybody managed to get out safely even the family cat.
The building is a total loss.
