Sox Fall to Twins 5-2
The Red Sox could not spoil the Twins first regular season game at their new stadium, Target Field. Minnesota beat Boston 5-2, Carl Pavano got the win tossing 6 innings allowing just 1 run. Jon Lester threw 107 pitches in 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits 3 walks and 5 Ks.
The Sox had 7 hits in the game including an RBI double by David Ortiz in the 4th.
Jacoby Ellsbury was scratched from the starting lineup with bruised rips that he suffered in the team's win over KC on Sunday.
The Red Sox are off Tuesday, they return to the field Wednesday afternoon with John Lackey on the mound.
