Devils Win Kovalchuk Sweepstakes

The New Jersey Devils have acquired Thrashers superstar winger Ilya Kovalchuk.In exchange, the Thrashers get rookie forward Niclas Bergfors, defenseman Johnny Oduya, prospect Patrice Cormier and a first-round draft pick.
The move comes hours after Thrashers GM Don Waddell released a statement saying that contract negotiations with Kovalchuk had reached an "impasse" and that the team was exploring its options.
