Somerville Building Partially Collapses
It happened around 9 a.m. at a Beacon Street building that houses two restaurants; Zoe's Chinese Restaurant and Mixtura Restaurant.
No one was injured.
The owner of Mixtura Restaurant Hugo Cerma tells WBZ-TV customers were eating breakfast in his restaurant at the time.
"It's very stressful at this time," Cerma said. "Hopefully we can make something good out of this disaster."
Cerma says the entire building shook at the time but there was little warning.
Somerville Police Chief Kevin Kelleher said the building's age may have contributed to the partial collapse.
Investigators were on scene Monday morning shutting off the power and trying to pinpoint an exact cause.
Kelleher said it could be a while before the businesses are able to reopen.
