Snow Shouldn't Cause Any Major Commuting Issues; Deep Freeze Next

We have our second accumulating snowfall in two days, some of the coldest air of the season about to move in, and yet another storm potential this weekend!
Let's focus on the here and now.
TIMELINE AND ACCUMULATIONS
Snow overspread the region this morning and will continue light to moderate for the afternoon.
It will be steadiest from Boston and points south, that is where 1-to-3 inches will accumulate before the evening commute. To the north of the Massachusetts Turnpike, the snow will be lighter, so just a dusting to an inch is expected.
We will be watching for some heavier snow bands to set up near the South Coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. If that happens, there could be some spotty 4-or-5 inch snow totals down there.
The snow will taper off from west to east after 4 p.m., likely ending in Boston around 5 p.m. and lastly over the Cape after 6 p.m.
At this time we don't foresee any major commuting issues due to the light and gradual nature of this snow event.
If the 1-3 inches were all falling with an hour or two during the commute, that could cause major issues. However, there should be plenty of time for road crews to clean up and we would expect all major roads just to be wet for the bulk of the evening commute.

Looking ahead, we will be in for a deep freeze for the remainder of this week.
Temperatures will nudge about the 32-degree mark on Wednesday afternoon for a short time and then fall below freezing for the next several days. In fact, many areas in southern New England may stay below the 32-degree mark Thursday, Friday and Saturday!
And then, we are watching what could be our biggest winter storm of the season thus far for this weekend. It's too early for specifics, but there could be a sizable snow-ice-rain event here around Saturday night and Sunday.
