Snow Will Be A 'Nuisance'

BOSTON (CBS) – There's not much change with the forecast for tonight's snow. Most of us will wake up to an average of one-to-three inches of snow on Thursday morning. It will be more of a nuisance than anything else.

TIMELINE

Light rain and snow showers are expected by this evening, changing to all snow after dark. The snow will begin to accumulate well after dark and will continue lightly overnight. Snow tapers and becomes more showery in nature during the day Thursday.

AMOUNTS

There will be a sharp cutoff on the northern edge of this storm. Parts of southern New Hampshire and extreme northern Massachusetts may see very little accumulation.

Most of southern New England is in line for a general one-to-three inches of snowfall.

Higher amounts should be confined to areas south and west of the Mass Pike.

From Worcester to Hartford there could be as much as three-to-five inches, especially in elevated areas.

Since temperatures will be borderline, the snow will have a heavy and wet consistency and have a better chance of sticking and accumulating in higher elevations and on the grass.

I suspect that most main roads will be fine.

WHATS NEXT?

It looks like several days of dry but chilly weather ahead, right through the weekend. Temperatures will struggle to reach 40 degrees Friday through Sunday.
