Snow Likely...Maybe A lot!
Well this was an interesting day for us model huggers! I feel bad for Joe and the morning mets who went with the blockbuster scenario the NAM and GFS were depicting using tainted data...no fair! Who knows what the problem was...could have been bad launches of the morning soundings or bad transmissions from them...would be interesting to know though. Either way we can't put much credence into them. Regardless, their solutions are still entirely possible but until the EURO and a 12Z or 00Z GFS shows the same I'm not jumping on board yet. And even if it happens with this upcoming 00Z run I will still be skeptical...simply put...we are still more than 48 hours away from this event and there will continue to be shifting. Here's what we are dealing with...a 50 mile jog to the East would mean a dusting to 2" in Boston but a 50 mile jog to the West would mean a foot in Boston. Think about it, 50 miles in the atmosphere is minute...but it's clearly major for us.
