Snow Causes Dozens Of Crashes On The South Shore

DUXBURY (CBS) – Bands of snow combined with multiple accidents created a treacherous commute Monday afternoon and evening.

There were spin-outs and crashes all over the South Shore.

The snow kept firefighters busy in Duxbury.

"We saw the squalls coming in," said Dep. Chief Chris West. "Unfortunately it's just a matter of time until we are up on Route 3."

A sudden white out and slick pavement caused dozens of vehicles to slide off the road.

"We had a box truck off the road," West said. "We had numerous cars off the road and into the woods."

Four people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
