Slow Snowmelt
It's two days after ther Blizzard of '13, and there are still secondary roads that are snow covered and even main roads have some right lanes covered with tall snowbanks. It is going to be a slow drive into your morning destination. You may need an extra cup of coffee! ;) A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect north and west of 128 from 6am this morning through 1pm this afternoon. A light icy mix/snow will develop between 7-9a and transition to rain around midday when temps rise above freezing. Scattered showers will fall across Southern New England today until tapering off this evening between 6-8pm. The south-southwest wind will increase to 5-15mph this afternoon and evening. Highs will be anywhere from the lower to middle 40s to as cool as the upper 30s for north central Mass. into southern NH.
Tuesday will bring us sunshine with high temps in the low 40s. A gusty wind will make it feel colder though.
Wednesday will be a mere carbon copy as the sunshine will lend a hand to high temps in the lower 40s.
While the shorter-range model (NAM) is showing a few inches of snow falling on Thursday morning, the most credible source so far this winter is the EURO model. The EURO shows the storm staying south of New England and out to sea. For now, we are forecasting sunshine with highs will be in the lower 40s once again. We will watch this track closely in case that it shifts farther north.
Friday will be partly sunny with highs in the lower 40s.
