Ski Report For Week Ending Jan. 14
Expect some of the best skiing we have seen this winter thanks to the Nor'easter of 2011! Martin Luther King weekend and new snow will certainly mean longer lines, but the conditions will make it well worth the wait.
Woodbury, Conn., Jiminy Peak and Mad River Glen have all picked up 3 feet of new snow. Deep powder will be found off the beaten trails. Jay Peak, Cannon and Saddleback all picked up two feet!
The pictures I have seen look epic for the powderhounds! Powder/Packed Powder will make for widespread soft surfaces and many sore legs in the lodge. The Glades will be open on a for expert skiiers the first time this winter (Just do not tell them I told you). Helmets Please!
Big moguls will form from the constant carving of excess snow. New Hampshire and Maine have 75% of their terrain open. Vermont has 90%, while Southern New England is 100% open for the first time this winter.
