Sick Ray Allen Questionable For Celtics On Friday
BOSTON (CBS) - Celtics guard Ray Allen is battling an illness, and his status is up in the air for Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers.
Allen missed practice on Thursday after sitting out Boston's 89-70 win over the New Jersey Nets Wednesday night with the flu.
Head coach Doc Rivers said Allen was feeling better on Thursday, but he doesn't want his guard to get anyone else sick so he told him to stay away from the team.
"Ray is feeling a lot better, [but] we told him to stay away," said Rivers. "We don't need anyone else getting sick."
Allen is currenlty leading the Celtics in scoring at a 20-points-per-game clip. His 22 three-pointers made are second in the NBA to Orlando's Ryan Anderson, and his 73-percent from the field also good for second in the league.
Guard Keyon Dooling got the start for Allen on Wednesday night and would likely do the same if Allen cannot go against the Pacers.
