Showers From Time-To-Time
A cold front is slow to depart as it's attached to a vertically stacked low that is slowly meandering to the north. This will keep mostly cloudy skies intact this morning followed by a few diurnal showers this afternoon. Highs will be cooler in the upper 50s.
As an upper level low departs northward, Friday will start with plentiful sunshine before a shortwave creates more cloud cover and potentially a few showers Friday night. Highs on Friday will be 65-70F...lower 60s S. Coast/Cape/Islands.
Mother's Day Weekend: The upper level cyclonic flow will allow for weak disturbances (shortwaves) to spawn a few showers on Saturday and potentially a spot shower Mother's Day afternoon. The best chance of showers will be Saturday while Mother's Day will most likely end out in a dry fashion. Highs will be in the middle to upper 60s...cooler for the coast (esp. of Mother's Day).
Models are hinting at a ridge building early next week which would provide dry conditions.
