Elderly Man Found Dead In Dorchester Sparks Homicide Probe
BOSTON (CBS) -- Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man connected to the stabbing death of an elderly man in Dorchester.
Officers were called to Shandon Road for a report of an unconscious man around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man in his late 70s suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is investigating.
Sources tell WBZ-TV that a 77-year-old man's throat was slashed and he was stabbed.
His identity has not been released.
Residents who live at the nearby Franklin Hill apartment complex off the American Legion Parkway were stunned to hear about the fatal stabbing.
The apartments in the well-kept development are relatively free of violent crime, and there are security cameras throughout the property, neighbors said.
