One Killed As Severe Weather Hits Central And Western Mass.
SPRINGFIELD (CBS/AP) -- Strong storms have struck some areas in western Massachusetts that were hit by June tornadoes, and tornado warnings were issued but none have been reported.
The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings Tuesday afternoon based on radar images for parts of Hampden and Worcester counties, and adjacent areas of northern Connecticut.
The warnings were in effect until about 5:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service said funnel clouds were seen, but no touchdowns.
There have been reports of tree and power line damage.
State Police say a motorcyclist was struck and killed by a utility pole in Hinsdale.
As of 10 p.m. Tuesday night, 26,000 people were without power statewide.
At one point, Wilbraham lost its emergency communications. The 911 system was never down.

Springfield Fire Department spokesman Dennis Leger said the city had heavy rain and hail, and numerous trees and power lines down in the Indian Orchard area, but no reports of injuries.
