"This is my new family," said Sherry, a protester. "And we're all a family here. We need to stick it out. As a homeless individual, I am showing that I have a guaranteed bed, and I am safe here."
Another woman sympathetic to the protests made dozens of turkey sandwiches and handed them out to many grateful demonstrators on Wednesday.
Francis, a protester, said he plans to stick around the tent city through Thanksgiving.
"This is where my family's at: the camp. This is more important than right now," said Francis.
One man, however, plans on spending the holiday in New York.
"You know, it's balance. Everything's about balance. Here, I'm a protester. In family, I get to rest. I haven't seen them in a while," said another man.
