Sen. John Kerry 'Not Going To Be Involved' In Brown Primary
BOSTON (AP) -- Sen. John Kerry is saying he won't endorse any candidate in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate seat
currently held by Republican Scott Brown, including consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren.
Asked Friday if he's spoken with Warren, the Massachusetts Democrat said it's up to voters to decide who should challenge
Brown in 2012.
Kerry said he's "just not going to be involved until we have a nominee."
Some Massachusetts Democrats have been courting Warren even though Brown remains popular with voters and is sitting on nearly $10 million in campaign cash.
President Obama appointed Warren to oversee the organization of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, but Senate Republicans have blocked him from putting Warren or anyone else in charge of the agency.
A spokesman for Warren has said she's committed to building the agency.
