Sen. Brown Delivers GOP Response To President's Radio Address
BOSTON (AP) - U.S. Sen. Scott Brown is praising President Obama for hunting down and killing Osama bin Laden.
Brown said the terrorist leader had chosen his fate in a life filled with cruelty.
The Massachusetts Republican made his remarks in the GOP response to the president's weekly address.
Typically the response is used to fault the Democratic president or offer an alternative view, but in his comments Brown credits Obama for acting "calmly, swiftly, and decisively" in ordering the raid on bin Laden's Pakistan compound.
Brown also credited former President Bush for vowing to hunt down the masterminds of the Sept. 11 attacks.
But Brown saved his highest praise for the "skill and raw courage" of the military.
While bin Laden is dead, Brown said the nation's mission in Afghanistan continues.
