Security Guard Allegedly Stole Bomb-Making Materials From Waltham High
LEOMINSTER (CBS) – A Waltham High School security guard was arrested in Leominster early Wednesday morning after police allegedly found bomb-making materials in his car.
Police say 23-year-old Jesse Holland of Gardner, stole the materials from the school's chemistry lab.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Wednesday, an officer at Watertown Plaza went to check on a suspicious car that was parked outside a Barnes and Noble. The officer says that Holland got out of the car, and started walking toward his cruiser. The officer says Holland claimed to be in the parking lot to take advantage of the free wireless Internet.
The officer went to Holland's car and allegedly found a stun gun, hatchet and drugs. Also found was aluminum and iron powder, and a ribbon of magnesium. Holland reportedly told police that he knew the materials could make a bomb.
Holland was charged with possession of a stun gun, drugs and explosive ingredients. He is being held until a dangerousness hearing.
