Second Man Arraigned Over Shooting Of Liquor Store Employee
FITCHBURG (AP) - A second man is being held without bail on a charge of murder stemming from his alleged role in the shooting death of a Fitchburg liquor store employee who was gunned down at the end of his shift.
A plea of not guilty was entered on behalf of 21-year-old Jason Velez-Acosta at his arraignment Friday in Fitchburg District Court over the killing of Scott Person of Ashby. The 40-year-old victim was shot in the head outside J.V.'s Package Store and Variety. He died in hospital last Friday.
The Worcester District Attorney's office says another suspect, 32-year-old Rafael Garcia-Concepcion, was arraigned last Friday on a murder charge. He was ordered held without bail. He originally faced assault charges before Ashby's death.
Velez-Acosta's attorney did not immediately return a call for comment.
