Seal spotted at Shoe Pond in Beverly

BEVERLY -- A seal spotted at Shoe Pond in Beverly on Friday is a long way from home. 

Residents who heard about the unusual visitor stopped by in hopes of seeing the seal. 

Beverly Animal Control said the seal is not in danger and it can go back into the river anytime it wants. 

Beverly Police posted on Facebook that they are now calling the seal Shoebert.
