Scott Zolak Says Bruins-Red Wings Series Is Over

BOSTON (CBS) - After a convincing, dominating 3-0 shutout in Detroit Tuesday night, Scott Zolak declared the series over to start the show Wednesday morning. He and Gresh also analyzed Game 3 in more detail, including Marchand's injury scare and much more.

"Get used to these cheesy intros and songs, because you know what this is? You can match this up with the start of [Montreal radio host]Tony Marinaro's show, which we're gonna start talking about in two weeks because this series is over bro," said Zo to kick off the show. "This thing is over."

"Hey, easy now," warned Gresh. "They were up 3-1 on Toronto..."

"I understand, but this ain't Toronto. I have my feet up," says Zo, "Howard's not the same."

The confidence that Zo has in the Bruins has been established further and further through each game. They are beating the Red Wings in every facet, as well as being the physically superior team.

For Gresh, the Bruins cannot get much better, "To me there is very little negative out of that game last night."

The Bruins set the tone early in the game and like Gresh said they came in sand staked their flag. The Detroit crowd was drained of their excitement after the first period.

What makes the Bruins so tough to beat is the consistent production they get from all of their lines. Seldom used Jordan Caron scored last night for the Bruins, just one game after Justin Florek netted a goal, proving that anyone they insert into the lineup is able to compete and contribute in the playoffs.

Crediting the entire lineup, Gresh singled out a few guys who stepped up.

"Kevan Miller was again apart of setting the tone in the first period, [Matt] Bartkowski was good not great, you had [Dougie] Hamilton step up, you get a goal from Caron on a great offense from the fourth line, and you got contributions from everybody up and down the lineup last night."

The two hosts turned the discussion to Brendan Smith's hit on Brad Marchand. Marchand received some criticism after he went down from the hit, with some claiming that he flopped.

Zo didn't think it was a flop saying, "You saw him extend the knee, it was absolutely, 100 percent intent to hit the player."

Marchand commented about the injury post game saying he was more concerned about how he landed compared to the actual hit. The reassurance that he is not injured will sit well with Bruins fans.

Given their current injury situation, they can't afford to lose an integral piece of the offense like Marchand.
