Scooter Rider Killed In Roxbury Hit & Run
ROXBURY (CBS/AP) - Boston police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a man riding a Vespa scooter late Sunday night.
It happened at the corner of Tremont and Terrace Streets around 11:40 p.m.
Investigators say an SUV was speeding past the Roxbury Crossing T station when it hit the scooter and did not stop.
Witnesses told police the SUV was a light blue or gray-silver Hyundai Santa Fe or Subaru.
Authorities believe it is likely missing at least one headlight and has extensive front end damage.
The scooter rider, a 24-year-old man, was rushed to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he died.
His name has not been released.
