Ryan Hall To Run 2011 Boston Marathon

BOSTON (CBS/AP) - One of America's best hopes at winning the Boston Marathon is going to give it another shot.

Ryan Hall announced Wednesday that he will join the elite field for the 115th running of the race on April 18.

Hall finished third in 2009 and fourth this year when he set a U.S. course record, finishing in 2 hours, 8 minutes and 41 seconds.

He finished 10th at the 2008 Beijing Olympics marathon.

Hall said in a statement he can't wait to get back to Boston and hopes to accomplish something "very special."

Greg Meyer was the last American man to win Boston in 1983.
