Runaway Sailboat Causes Delays At Logan Airport
BOSTON (CBS) - A runaway 37-foot sailboat caused minor delays at Logan Airport on Monday.
According to officials, the boat broke free from a mooring in Winthrop and wound up running aground off runway 27 at the airport.
The airport was forced to shut down that runway and another while the police and Coast Guard worked to get the disabled out of the way of any incoming or outgoing flights.
Eventually crews managed to lower the sailboat's mast.
The boat remained on the rocks, but was no longer considered an obstruction.
The runway was reopened.
