Man Found Stabbed In Car In Roxbury

ROXBURY (CBS) -- A man was found stabbed in his car in Roxbury early Sunday morning, Boston Police said.

He was found near the corner of Blue Hill Avenue and Edgewood Street around 2 a.m.

Residents in the area woke up to a police investigation shutting down Blue Hill Ave for hours.

Boston Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The car, blocked off by police tape, could be seen in the middle of Blue Hill Ave with its doors wide open. It appeared to have crashed into several parked vehicles.

One man who lives on Blue Hill Avenue told WBZ-TV's Mike LaCrosse the victim's car smashed into his, leaving heavy damage.

"I just seen lights, came outside and realized my car was right here," he said. "T-boned it, broke my axle on the other side ... it stopped him from hitting the building, cause he would have ran into the building."

Residents in the area say they're sadly becoming immune to seeing blue lights and yellow tape in their neighborhood.

"I'm angry, then I'm sad," said one area resident. "But the way I look at it, I say well, this is part of life over here."

Boston Police crime statistics from the first of the year through mid-June show Roxbury has seen five homicides and more than 120 robberies and attempted robberies, both crimes down compared to the same period last year.

"Not much you can really do about it besides hope for a better tomorrow," one resident said.

Police aren't releasing the name of the victim, and say that there are no arrests so far, but the investigation remains active.
