Person Hit By Several Cars, Killed On Route 128
WALTHAM (CBS) – A person was hit by several cars and killed on Route 128 in Waltham late Thursday night.
It happened in the southbound lanes about a half mile before exit 26 around 10:20 p.m.
On Friday, State Police said they are still investigating why the unidentified person was walking on the highway. From a preliminary investigation, police believe the person was walking in the second from the right travel lane when a 2010 Nissan Altima driven by a 61-year-old man struck the victim. After the initial hit, police say several other cars also struck the victim.
Three lanes were closed for several hours.
The drivers who hit the victim all stopped at the scene and none were injured. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
