"We are grateful for the many, many people in all of the surrounding communities for their patronage over the years," says owner Diana Fay on the mini golf course's website.
The property has been sold to a developer, according to The Saugus Advertiser. The newspaper reports that the developer is planning to build a hotel and apartment complex, and the mini golf course land is part of the plan.
There was a strong turnout at the mini golf course, which also has soft-serve ice cream at the Dairy Castle and an arcade, for the five-hour event from noon-to-5 p.m. Kids paid 35 cents to play a round of mini golf, while adults paid 50 cents.
The mini golf course is expected to stay open until late October or early November depending on the weather, according to their website.
