Rough 3rd Quarter Costs Celtics in Loss to Magic
The Celtics gave up an 11 point halftime lead, getting outscored 36-11 in the 3rd quarter, ultimately losing to the Orlando Magic 96-89. Paul Pierce (13 points 4 rebounds 3 steals in 30 minutes) and Marquis Daniels (8 points 3 rebounds in 11 minutes) both returned to the C's lineup in the loss that snaps their brief 3 game winning streak.
Rajon Rondo led the way for the Celtics with 17 points 8 rebounds and 9 assists.
All five Orlando starters scored in double figures. Vince Carter (20), Dwight Howard (16-13 rebounds), Jameer Nelson (15), Rashard Lewis (14), and Matt Barnes (11).
The Celtics travel to New Orleans to face the Hornets on Wednesday night before getting some time off for the All-Star break.
