Rondo, Garnett Named To All-Defensive 1st Team

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Celtics Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett were named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team on Monday, the league announced.

Garnett made first team honors for the ninth time in his career, tying him for the most with Michael Jordan, Gary Payton and Kobe Bryant, who was also named to the first team on Monday.

This is the second straight season Rondo has been named to the first team. He received the second most votes behind Dwight Howard, who was named Defensive Player of the Year last month.

Rondo was second in the NBA with 2.3 steals per game.

Lebron James was also named to the All-Defensive First Team.
