Romneys again become MA property owners
Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, are again Massachusetts property owners.
A spokesman says the former Bay State governor and 2008 Republican presidential contender bought a two-bedroom townhouse in suburban Belmont last month. The Romneys paid $895,000 for the 2,100-square-foot property at The Woodlands at Belmont Hill, a residential development that is part of the redevelopment of McLean Hospital.
The couple has not owned property in Massachusetts since they sold their longtime home in Belmont in 2009. Instead, they have claimed a basement apartment in the home of their eldest son, Tagg, as their legal residence.
They also have lived at a house in San Diego and on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
