Rolling Stone Report Details Aaron Hernandez's Alleged Angel Dust Use, Violent History, Paranoia
BOSTON (CBS) - Rolling Stone magazine released the full version of its story on Aaron Hernandez Wednesday that details a history of alleged violence, designer drug use, paranoia, and off-field antics that nearly got him cut by the Patriots before he was charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd.

On the dispute with Lloyd at a Boston nightclub two nights before the murder:
Lloyd saw two of his cousins downstairs. He went to hug them up and buy them drinks when one of them… started pointing and mean-mugging Hernandez. "I don't like that ******, he's one of them funny people," said the cousin… When Lloyd went back upstairs, Hernandez was enraged. Club security cameras allegedly capture the two men squabbling…
The article also discusses Hernandez's fear that people were trying to kill him.
According to a source close to Hernandez, he flew to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this past February and confided to Belichick that his life was in danger. Hernandez was trying to break away from the gangsters he'd befriended. He worried "they were actually trying to kill him," says the source... "He was very paranoid, but was that because of his addictions or because he was trying to leave the gang?"
One of the authors of the Rolling Stone article suggested to WBZ-TV that Hernandez's fears may have been real.
"According to someone very close to Hernandez, there have been actual attempts made on his life in the last several months," Paul Solotaroff said.
Solotaroff said it appeared that Hernandez may also have been paranoid in part because of an addiction to the designer drug PCP.
"Don't matter what it's about: Aaron's out of his mind," says one friend of the family. "He's been twisted on (angel) dust now for more than a year, which is when all of this crazy **** started."
The magazine also reports that Hernandez had so infuriated his head coach Bill Belichick with missed practices and "thug-life stunts," that he was one misstep from being cut, and that Belichick's advice to Hernandez for staying out of trouble was to rent a safe house and lay low. Hernandez did eventually rent an apartment in Franklin.
The article also details troubles going back to his college days at the University of Florida.
Rolling Stone reports his coach Urban Meyer may have helped cover up failed drug tests, along with two violent incidents — an assault and a drive-by shootout outside a local bar.
Hernandez is currently being held without bail in the Bristol County Jail cell on first-degree murder charges.
