Roller Coaster Ride

The temperatures will take a downhill turn today before heading uphill tomorrow thru Friday.  The sun will be shining , and the winds will be whipping today as strong cold air advection drops high temps into the lower and middle 20s today.  That's nearly 25-30F degrees colder than yesterday.  A tight pressure gradient will induce gusty winds as high as 50mph. Winds will be strongest this morning while decreasing in intensity thru the afternoon and evening.

Starting Wednesday, temps will be upward bound!  A ridge of high pressure ('happy' weather) will continue to supply us with plentiful sunshine. Winds will take a turn and eventually provide a southwest wind flow ushering in milder air.  The crescendo will be Friday.  Highs will rise into the lower 40s Wednesday...near 50F Thursday...and lower to middle 50s Friday!  A warm front Thursday night will increase cloud cover with a slight chance of showers (esp. in Northern New England).  There will be a chance of showers on Friday (esp. in the afternoon) as a cold front approaches from the west.  The cold front slips past New England Friday night and ushers in colder air for the weekend.

If you don't have 'Spring Fever' yet, you may feel it by Friday! :)

Melissa :)
