Roger Goodell Tries To Compliment Innocent People On Twitter, Immediately Gets Everyone Destroyed

BOSTON (CBS) -- I'm really trying to move on from DeflateGate, especially now that Tom Brady is doing so. But as far as the NFL being shady and Roger Goodell being the sports equivalent of a slithering ball of slime that infects and defiles everything it rolls up in its filth? Never giving that up.
Goodell attended a screening Monday night for the acclaimed new documentary Gleason which chronicles the story of former New Orleans Saints defensive back Steve Gleason, who was diagnosed with ALS at age 34. It's a hugely inspiring story and one worth checking out. But Goodell decided to hop on his Twitter account Tuesday afternoon, first to post the trailer and then to commend Gleason's wife Michel.
Unfortunately for the Gleason family, who clearly did not deserve to get sucked into Goodell's vortex of misery and stupidity, the commissioner will draw ire no matter what he says.
Then, Goodell decided to reply to a tweet by writer Annie Apple, mother of New York Giants rookie cornerback Eli Apple, who posted a photo of herself with Goodell at the screening. Apple will be a contributor on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, so Goodell congratulated her for it and she thanked him.
Poor Annie probably didn't realize that merely associating yourself with Goodell siphons you into the kind of whirling cesspool of hatred that only Goodell could conjure up with such an innocuous comment.
Mrs. Apple then attempted to channel the tidal wave of vitriol into Goodell's undoubtedly massive pile of hate mail.
Let this be a lesson: if you see Goodell in your general vicinity, and do not want to get roasted, do not engage. You're pretty much asking for a fresh wave of nastiness.
