Roche: Some Love For Andover
BOSTON (CBS) - How about Andover? Yep, I am a Merrimack Valley guy through and through.
So, I gotta give some love on this Friday morning to the Andover guys...
First, the Andover Little Leaguers. They fought their way into the semi-finals of the New England Regionals as the 4th seed. Paul Finn's crew then bested the top-seeded New Hampshire kids 9-4 on Thursday night.
They now meet Rhode Island in the final Saturday afternoon in Bristol, CT. The winner moves on to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. And, that would be a dream come true for all of them.
Good luck to them, but they are already winners at this point... just like all of the kids that played this summer.
Next up, Andover's Buddy Farnham. The Brown University grad wowed the crowd in Thursday night's 47-12 Patriots preseason opening romp over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
First, the wide receiver catches three balls for 34 yards on the offensive side of things.
And for an encore, he does the "Troy Brown specialty" and notches the Patriots only interception while playing defensive back.
How about that day? What will they do for an encore?
A trip to Williamsport anyone?
